Our first collection to inspired by our love natural history, the beauty of nature and that fine art does not have to be limited to a wall. Leather is one of our favorite canvases.
The natural world is for everyone. Our design philosophy encourages everyone to take an active part in it. We want people to know luxury goods are made in their backyard in our Tampa and St. Petersburg studios.
We do not chase trends. We aim to create something new or enduring.
We’re here to create something timeless. Just like the mediums we work in. Leather, Lapidary, Natural or Novel Materials.
Combining creativity, strategy, and heart, we help ideas take shape into something we love and you can love.
Artist Manifesto. Short One.
Artist Manifesto. The Long One.
We create wearable art that is designed to last. We want our leather to be as unexpected as the fact that we make everything in Cities of Saint Petersburg and Tampa by ourselves.
We hold that art may display subtle tones and striking colors. Nature offers a wide range of styles and potential. Our art and brand, Wishbone, reflects the same.
Our work is closely associated with the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which celebrates the beauty of impermanence, imperfection, and the natural passage of time.
The natural traces of time and the authenticity over the artificial.
This philosophy encourages individuals to pay close attention to modest, weathered, or incomplete things, embracing both the unique, originality and the constant change in life.
Wabi is the modest elegance. Sabi is the beauty that time gives to things. The patina of age, the signs of use. Our work will take on the marks of time and a life-well lived. Our philosophy seeks the “imperfect perfection” created by embracing the inclusions, patterns and natural veining of our materials. These signs of life and soul make each creation as unique as its wearer. We want to show the human hand behind the work. Avoiding industrial uniformity, all pieces carry the unique signature of the people who made it. It’s our own artist’s touch.
We don’t create future landfill. We are also inspired by the japanese philosophy of boro. Boro means something worn by time and built to last. It is one of the deepest expressions of resilience and beauty in Japanese culture. Boro turned scarcity into creativity and necessity into art.
Our creations are made to last and can be restored or remade. The deep beauty of leather. Our marbling designs mimic many forms. They look like old maps, constellations or landscapes seen from above. The viewer is invited to gaze at the design and see it through many different lenses and perspectives throughout a lifetime.
We set out to make designs that last, with infinite patience and a departure from minimalist aesthetics.
